Schedule: 35 h / week

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Being an educational advisor means supporting the development of effective and innovative teaching practices to promote student success and engagement.

On a daily basis, you provide advice and support to school teams regarding the implementation, development, and evaluation of curricula, classroom management, and pedagogy. You contribute to the professional development of staff and the continuous improvement of teaching practices, taking into account the realities and needs of the community.

Responsibilities

Do you want to make an impact in your workplace? CSSMB is looking for an educational advisor in French language of instruction. Reporting to the Educational Resources Service, the person will work in a dynamic and enriching work environment and will be called upon to play a consulting role and support teachers in schools regarding the implementation, development, and evaluation of curricula, classroom management, and pedagogy. Additionally, the implementation of the updated French program and support for the professional integration of unqualified teachers are two priorities of the mandate.

The person may be required to travel to various CSSMB schools to provide training or facilitate educational activities. Furthermore, they will need to collaborate with other stakeholders in the school environment, partner organizations, and the Ministry of Education.

Specific Tasks:

  • Collaborate on the realization of the educational project of the establishments and the school service center;

  • Contribute to the implementation and interpretation of curricula and training programs;

  • Collaborate in the development of learning situations, support classroom experimentation, and participate in the design, development, or adaptation of assessment tools;

  • Promote effective teaching strategies in reading, writing, and oral communication among teachers of the school service center;

  • Participate with teachers in the development and implementation of learning strategies and projects;

  • Advise management, teaching, and professional staff on issues related to staff development programs.

Requirements

  • Hold a terminal undergraduate degree in a field of specialization appropriate to the position, particularly in education;

  • Hold a teaching certificate (an asset);

  • Have a good knowledge of the curriculum, particularly in French (secondary level);

  • Be able to play a consulting role with management, teachers, and stakeholders from different backgrounds;

  • Master various IT platforms such as Google Suite and the collaborative platform (an asset);

  • Proof of success in the French test SEL or CÉFRANC or TECFÉE or the CSSMB enhanced French exam within three months of hiring at the latest.
